Storm Doris is causing major delays on the East Coast network in and out of Doncaster. The train operator is reminding passengers to travel only if essential and that tickets are now valid on any Virgin Train to your destination.
From Virgin Trains:
“Trains will take longer than planned to reach their destinations as speed restrictions will be in place across the majority of the Virgin Trains East Coast route which may lead to train times being altered or cancelled at short notice. To try to make this as painless as possible for you we have changed our ticket “rules” from tonight until 14:00 on Friday, so simply put, if you can travel when the weather is a little better (early or late in the day tomorrow) or any time up until 14:00 on Friday 24 February – jump on any train between these times and we will make sure we get you to your destination. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks in advance for your understanding.”
