Ben Parkinson has been nominated to be a Freeman of the Borough of Doncaster in honour of his military service and charity work.

Ben was overjoyed at the news and, referring to the fact that traditionally freemen of the town have been allowed to drive their flocks through the town centre, said “I’m going to buy some geese and sheep and drive them over the North Bridge in rush hour”

Ben’s mum Diane said “It’s just the crowning glory because the people of Doncaster and Yorkshire have taken to Ben, accepted Ben from the moment he came back from hospital. He’s everybody’s son.”

  1. Ben deserves this. He’s an amazing guy who’s come through so much along with his family.
